Sandra Cheung

Sandra Cheung is the Executive Director of Stemtree San Mateo. She has been a long time Belmont resident where she lives with her husband and kids, has a BS and PhD in Computer Science. A long term veteran in the Silicon Valley, Sandra has held positions in large enterprises (AT&T, Yahoo and Cisco) as well as start-ups (WideField Security) in engineering and operations roles. She is passionate about teaching and has always doubled down on youth in the Bay Area (she co-founded the Silicon Valley Ice Skating Association) and has led her daughter’s Girl Scout troop for over 10 years. In operating Stemtree in San Mateo, Sandra hopes to bring the portfolio of STEM curriculum to San Mateo as an enrichment opportunity for Peninsula youth. In 2025, she also founded an AI literacy non profit, with the goal of democratizing AI.

Brandon Dompier

Brandon Dompier is an instructor at Stemtree San Mateo. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he earned his Master’s in Education. His teaching qualifications include both a secondary English teaching credential and a supplementary Mathematics credential, allowing him to support students across multiple subject areas. Brandon also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Literature with a Creative Writing concentration from UC Santa Cruz. Beyond the classroom, Brandon remains an active reader and puzzler, continuously expanding his knowledge and bringing contemporary perspectives to his teaching practice. His interdisciplinary expertise in both humanities and mathematics enables him to help.
