Beyond Science Activities: Stemtree Science Program

Stemtree Science curriculum goes beyond science activities. It consists of a specialized, grade-dependent curriculum effective in introducing students to fundamental concepts and the diverse fields that students will encounter in the classroom and beyond. Our goal is to make science as hands-on and fun as possible! Students will work one-on-one with an instructor through our highly customized curriculum with numerous age appropriate activities, experiments, and vocabulary games to become more adept in understanding and explaining different scientific phenomena.

Students’ proficiency in science is assessed during the first session. Stemtree’s comprehensive science curriculum satisfies both state and national standards and is offered by grade at the elementary and middle school levels. We also offer homework and exam support for Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Earth Science for regular, honors, and advanced high school students.

Code with Fun: Stemtree Coding Program

Why choose our Coding program? Though most children use computers every day, very few understand the mechanism involved in creating the software media or software they are using. We offer several different programming languages so that students of all ages and experience levels can enhance their computer competency. The Stemtree Coding program tracks students through a highly tailored learning plan that establishes programming fundamentals they will use to develop computer games, apps, and media rather than simply playing them. Students will learn basic reasoning and learn to think creatively as they collaborate with others to create their own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art.

Students’ proficiency in Programming may be assessed during the first session. They will gain interactive experience with:

  • Problem-solving and project design
  • Trouble shooting and debugging their own code
  • Conditionals, variables, sequences, and more!

Robo-fun: Stemtree Robotics Program

Our Robotics program aims to develop future engineers by introducing students the fundamental concepts of design, construction, revision, and computer programming at a key developmental stage in their life. Participants will learn engineering basics while working through our customized curriculum that expands on their current knowledge to create increasingly intricate builds that requires more complex programming skills to run. Whether students are just beginning their journey into the world of robotics or have a deeper understanding of gear ratios and mechanical advantage, they will be challenged and encouraged to think critically and outside of the box through the duration of our program.

Students’ proficiency in Robotics is assessed during the first session. They will gain experience in the following:

  • Basic computer skills and programming languages
  • Mechanical design and construction
  • Step-by-step instructional and customized build designs

Build Your Own Circuit: Stemtree Electricity & Electronics Program

The Electricity & Electronics (EE) program uses childrens’ natural fascination with lights and sounds to encourage an interest in exploring the fundamentals of electricity and circuits! With our highly customized curriculum, students follow a learning plan that allows them to build a strong foundation in the fundamentals of electricity before moving into the different elements of circuitry. Our program provides students with safe and fun hands-on activities that reinforces novel concepts and ensures that students remain active and engaged learners.

Students’ proficiency in EE is assessed during the first session. They will gain practical experience with:

  • The fundamentals of electricity at the atomic level
  • Different aspects of circuit safety
  • Electrical components in circuits

Sum Math Fun: Stemtree Mathematics Program

Stemtree’s Mathematics program consists of a specialized, grade-dependent curriculum that uses engaging activities and physical manipulatives to make math more fun. Our goal is to ensure that students not only understand math but are also able to apply their math knowledge and skills in their daily lives. The Stemtree Math curriculum provides a strong foundation for students to build upon, and it provides support for those students that may already understand the basics but need help with more complex topics.

Each student’s proficiency in mathematics is assessed during the first session. We will personalize a lesson plan for each student based on their grade level, the outcome of their assessment, and their mathematics knowledge level.

The content of the Math curriculum will focus on:

  • Expansion of preexisting math skills
  • Understanding the importance of mathematics in daily life
  • Developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills
